A few weekends back I was laughing with a friend about how the vocabulary and terminology used in the world of nutrition surrounding superfoods today sounds like it comes from a distant star system, far, far away...

Given the natural aversion many of us have to healthy eating and trying new things (like pond scum), a natural leap between the aforementioned vernacular and Calvin -- an iconic embodiment of the pint-sized picky eater in all of us -- was made. Consequently, this threw down the gauntlet for a late night obsessive compulsive fit of graphic artistry on my part to see if I actually could remix some old Spaceman Spiff strips into something relevant. Pleased with the results, I've included my remix below for your viewing pleasure. Aside from all the fun I had doing this, the revisitation of the utterly inimitable yet ever accessible Calvin and Hobbs and the brilliance of Mr. Bill Watterson has been a very pleasant bonus!

Bill, you are a GOD! Please forgive me for riffing! I did my best to stay true to the voice of Spaceman Spiff but I couldn't resist inserting myself (Suzie) into the strip at the end, since after all, her name is Susie, and I am always telling folks about how friendly healthy foods are for the human body...
